(November 9, 2024) - Spruce Meadows received a stunning 9.5 out of 10 from the FEI on the ECS Event Reporting scorecard following September’s ‘Masters’ tournament.
Every FEI show jumping competition at Spruce Meadows is given a score determined by a number of outside stakeholders participating in the event. The stakeholders include foreign officials (judges, course designers, veterinarians and stewards), athletes and grooms who evaluate a variety of aspects of the tournament.
Footing of the competition and warm up arenas is just one of the areas assessed by the stakeholders and this year, thanks is large part to the Spruce Meadows Operation Services Team, the footing received an “exceeds expectations” rating on all fronts.
“We take the feedback from our athletes and officials very seriously, and footing maintenance is a full time job and investment,” said Spruce Meadows President & CEO, Linda Southern-Heathcott. “Our team listened and dedicated so much time and resources to ensuring a superior product for our competitors. It’s wonderful to see all those efforts recognized".”
Stabling, competitions, facilities and amenities for athletes, groom and officials, emergency readiness, and media coverage were also assed by the stakeholders - all averaging an “exceeds expectations” rating.
